High School Social Studies PD Exchange Day Opportunities
The Exchange Professional Development Day Program allows eligible employees to pursue professional learning from May 29, 2026, to April 1, 2027, in exchange for two paid workdays during the 2026-2027 school year (May 26 and May 27, 2027). Each of these days is provided in exchange for 6 hours of non-contract professional learning, totaling 12 hours. Eligible employees include teachers, apprentice teachers, and instructional coaches, librarians, and nurses. Employees cannot choose which day they are off if they earn only 6 hours of EP credit. The first 6 hours earned will be for May 26, 2027, and the second 6 hours earned will be for May 27, 2027.

PISD high school social studies believes it is critical for educators to have ongoing and regular opportunities to learn from each other. Ongoing professional development keeps educators up-to-date on new research on how students learn, emerging technology tools for the classroom, new curriculum resources, and more. The best professional development is ongoing, experiential, collaborative, and connected to and derived from working with students and understanding their culture.
