Now that you are signed up, it's time to get you an instrument and your supplies from Lisle Violin Shop!  HOWEVER, we will begin the first few weeks with position games to help you learn how to hold the instrument and bow properly.  You must first PASS all position games BEFORE we allow you to play your real instrument.

• Quality student instrument that is the correct size for your child's  arm length. (DO NOT buy a toy instrument that LOOKS like an instrument. Please follow the teacher's recommendations on how to get an instrument).

• Essential Elements  Book

• Rosin

• Violin/Viola-Kun shoulder rest

• Cello/Bass- end pin strap (Xeros end pin holder)

• Bass- a stool to sit on that fits the child's leg length.  

Lisle Violin Shop is only 15 minutes away from our school.  

• Email Ms. Russell to ask her what size you need.  lrussell2@pasadenaisd.org .  She met most of the kids at their elementary schools before March and will hopefully have this information.  

• Please RENT your instrument and supplies online at Lisle Violin Shop. by using  the form on this website:  https://www.violins.com/

  • • RENTING is the BEST way for children this age.  As they grow, the store will TRADE to the next SIZE.  Another added bonus is that if it BREAKS, they will repair it or replace it.  Also, it is a RENT to OWN program that by the time your child is in 8th or 9th grade you will likely own it.  

• Ask to have your instrument DELIVERED to MORRIS.  We need to prepare your instrument with finger tapes and bow lines before you take it home.  We will call you to pick it up as soon as we have it ready for you.  

Concerts?

YES!!!  We WILL have concerts!  They will probably be in your home to start but we plan to share music throughout our community for sure!  We also plan to put together a Virtual Orchestra Video to include all of us playing together!
