Christopher Torres is a proud basketball player for PMHS.
He finds joy being outdoors, worshiping the Lord, and spending time with family and friends. His experience at PMHS has been nothing short of amazing, a welcoming environment where he’s built lasting friendships and grown as a person.
For Torres, basketball is more than a sport. It’s his quiet place, a space where he can be alone with his thoughts and reflect.
His greatest accomplishment? Giving his life to the Lord and getting baptized was a moment that transformed him deeply. “Only He forgives and saves. Trust Jesus Christ,” Torres said.
Three words that describe him: Outgoing. Energetic. Faithful.
Looking ahead, Torres dreams of playing college basketball after graduating with the Class of 2028. His ultimate goal is to become a youth pastor, guiding others through faith and compassion.
Right now, he’s focused on improving his social skills, becoming more talkative, and growing into the best version of himself. Not just for his own sake, but for those around him.
For Lupita Tavera, soccer isn’t just a sport ... it’s her way of life. Every win, every loss, every moment on the field has shaped her into the person she is today. Through the highs and lows, she’s built unbreakable bonds with her teammates and learned the true meaning of perseverance.
Even when a meniscus injury sidelined her for half the season, Lupita refused to give up. Her determination never wavered.
Inspired by her dad, Lupita began playing soccer at a young age with the Pasadena Soccer League. Her family has been her biggest cheerleaders ever since. Off the field, she stays active by running and joined the cross country team to keep her body and mind strong.
Her advice to fellow athletes? “Be confident and have fun. Enjoying the game makes you more successful. GO LADY MAVS!”
