Remember e-mail is for school business only.
All e-mail sent and received is monitored by the district.
All messages should be kept professional.
Teachers should be in the habit of checking their e-mail several times a day.
Many times emails are sent in place of holding after school meetings
**REMEMBER - Parents
can request access to all sent and received emails**
If there is something you would like the staff to be aware of, or would like publicized in the Lomax Legend (Art show, Orchestra concert, Outside hobby of a staff member showcase, etc) please forward the information to your CC or T-TESS appraiser to be included in the Legend or approved to be emailed.
Email Etiquette:
Never use email to harass others or otherwise use it in such a way that it will bother people.
Do not send email to large groups of people who might not be interested in your message. Never send spam mail or chain mail.
Pause before you send an email message you might later regret. Avoid personal attacks on others. A good general rule is if you would not say it to a person's face, do not send it.
Body language and tone of voice do not come across in email. Be more careful than you are in conversation. Do not type in all capital letters; YOUR MESSAGE WILL LOOK LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING!
Do not send messages you would not want forwarded
Learn the difference between replying to a whole group of users and replying to just the author of a message. Does everyone in the group need to read your response?
Use spell check and grammar check before sending the email.
If you need to discuss a sensitive issue with a parent, call instead of email.
Avoid getting into a long discussion with someone using email. If a correspondence requires more than two emails, place a phone call or talk to the person face-to-face.
