Welcome to the 24 Hour Plays: Artist Incubator. This initiative was born from a simple belief: the gap between "student" and "professional" shouldn't be a leap—it should be a bridge. As a proud LAGCC alumnus, I know the raw talent that lives within these halls. My goal with The Artist Incubator was to take that talent out of the classroom and into the "fire" of live creation.
Tonight, you are witnessing the results of twenty emerging artists—our 2026 cohort—collaborating with industry mentors to create something from nothing in just twenty-four hours. This isn't just a performance; it is a capstone of my research at The New School into sustainable production and artist advocacy. We are here to prove that when you give the next generation a low-risk environment for high-reward experimentation, they don't just meet expectations—they redefine them.

Your professional expertise and tireless work behind the scenes have been the backbone of this initiative. Thank you for returning to "the fire" with me to help guide the next generation of artists, and for proving that the bond of the LAGCC community remains long after graduation. This incubator is a testament to our shared vision and your enduring commitment to our peers.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC) and the Rough Draft Festival for providing a home for this experiment. We are honored that Mark Armstrong and The 24 Hour Play Company provided the framework for this event. We are grateful for the guest artists who have support this entire process from facilitating workshops to giving our curator, Patrick, advice during the process.
