ASEAN Booth Exhibition: A Colorful Journey Through Southeast Asian Cultures 

BSAB 4A’s Vietnam-themed entry was named Best ASEAN Booth during the ASEAN Cultural Booth Exhibition, one of the major highlights of UNIFIESTA held at Partido State University–Salogon Campus on August 26, 2026. The group drew its color scheme from the Vietnamese flag and incorporated lanterns and other cultural elements into its display.

A participant from BSAB 4A described the experience as “nakaka-enjoy na nakakapagod at the same time kasi ito nga yung naging result.” Despite the tiring preparation, the students enjoyed the activity and were proud of the outcome.

Explaining their inspiration, the participant said, “Dahil ang country namin is Vietnam, nag-base po kami ng kulay ng aming booth sa flag, and also sa culture and tradition din nila. Like, meron sila mga lanterns, gano’n.”

Beyond the winning entry, the exhibition became a vibrant avenue for students to discover, appreciate, and celebrate the diverse cultures of Southeast Asia. Each section showcased an assigned ASEAN country: BSAB 1A featured Singapore; BSAB 1B, Thailand; BSAB 2A, Cambodia; BSAB 2B, Timor-Leste; BSAB 3A, Brunei; BSAB 3B, the Philippines; BSAB 4A, Vietnam; BSCD 1A, Laos; BSCD 2A, Malaysia; BSCD 3A, Indonesia; and BSCD 4A, Myanmar.

Each booth highlighted selected aspects of its assigned country’s culture through creative decorations, traditional clothing, food, and other cultural displays. More than a competition, the activity encouraged students to work together while gaining a deeper appreciation of the similarities and differences among ASEAN nations, embodying the spirit of “Uniting Cultures, Celebrating Together.”

Singapore

A participant from BSAB 1A shared that preparing the booth was challenging because “bako man po so booth lang ang pinagkakaabalahan, like gabos po kami nakiki-operate.” Despite having other responsibilities, the students worked together to complete their booth.

Their inspiration came from Singapore’s transformation and modernization. The participant explained, “Ini po booth mi nasa modern, pinapahiling lang po namin dito kung paano nag-innovate ang country sa Singapore—from fishing village to new world cities.” Through the booth, the group aimed to showcase Singapore’s journey toward becoming a modern and developed city-state.

Thailand

BSAB 1B showcased Thailand through a vibrant booth inspired by Thai traditions, arts, and customs. The colorful presentation gave visitors a glimpse of the country’s cultural heritage and showed the students’ effort in bringing selected aspects of Thai culture to life.

Cambodia

A participant from BSAB 2A described the preparation as challenging because “sa una talaga masakit kasi po nagkulang kami sa material.” The group addressed its lack of materials by following the instructors’ advice to “use your creativity.”

Despite the challenge, the students completed their booth through creativity and teamwork. They drew inspiration from tourist attractions in Cambodia, which helped them develop a presentation featuring the country’s cultural identity.

Timor-Leste

A participant from BSAB 2B shared that their preparation was “medyo rush na po kasi siya, and nagkulang din po kami sa budget.” Despite the limited time and budget, the students felt that their efforts were “worth it din naman.”

The group drew inspiration from “yung mga people po sa Timor-Leste” and the country’s traditional culture. These ideas helped them create a booth featuring selected aspects of Timor-Leste’s people, traditions, and cultural identity.

Brunei

A participant from BSAB 3A shared, “Syempre ano… we have too much to prepare kasi aram mi po, competition ini. Kaipu mi po mag-adjust na maka-relate sa country kang Brunei.”

The group prepared several materials while ensuring that its booth and presentation were connected to Brunei’s culture and identity.

Philippines

A participant from BSAB 3B shared, “Madami po… pag wala po ang iba [na] kagamitan, mahirap po makabuo.” Despite the difficulty of securing the needed materials, the students continued working together to complete their booth.

The group identified unity as the key to completing its presentation, saying, “Unity lang po, makabuo po agad ang booth.” Their experience showed how cooperation and teamwork helped them overcome challenges during the preparation.

Laos

A participant from BSCD 1A shared that the group had to work within limited preparation time but still enjoyed the experience.

“Cramming, syempre po, at hindi ’yun maiiwasan, pero nag-enjoy po kami kahit cramming,” the participant said.

The students identified Ariel Delfino as their main source of encouragement during the preparation. His guidance motivated them to give their best in showcasing Lao culture.

Malaysia

BSCD 2A also experienced time pressure during the preparation. Despite the challenge, the students believed that their efforts were worthwhile.

“Kahit po na short sa oras, nag-cramming din po kami, pero worth it naman po ang result,” a participant shared.

The group drew inspiration from ideas found online, which helped the students improve the creativity and overall presentation of their booth.

Indonesia

BSCD 3A cited cooperation and coordination among its members as one of the main challenges during the preparation. Despite this, the students were inspired by the “similarities and culture po as ASEAN country.”

The experience helped them appreciate the cultural connections among ASEAN nations while showcasing selected aspects of Indonesian culture through their booth.

Myanmar

BSCD 4A encountered difficulties in finding suitable attire for its booth presenters and completing the booth’s design. Despite these challenges, the students remained motivated and enjoyed preparing their presentation.

The group drew inspiration from Myanmar’s traditions and culture, which helped the students create a booth featuring selected aspects of the country’s cultural identity.

Celebrating Diversity, Strengthening Unity

The ASEAN Cultural Booth Exhibition showcased the diverse cultures of Southeast Asia through student creativity and teamwork. Each booth highlighted selected cultural traditions while promoting appreciation, unity, and the spirit of “Uniting Cultures, Celebrating Together.”
