Know and Need to Knows are lists and questions driven by student understanding and inquiry. These lists guide students on their next steps in the inquiry, and assist teachers in their formative and summative assessment.

K&NTKs start at the launch of the XIL Project. However, they are 'live' and constantly adjusting.

The class teacher needs to build steps into the XIL where students can demonstrate that they can move their 'Need to Knows' to the Know column based on their understanding.
