There are 3 main energy systems, these are:
alactacid system (ATP/PC) (without oxygen)
lactic acid system (without oxygen)
aerobic system (with oxygen)
Choose three sports below and explain why the different energy systems would be used at those different percentages throughout the game or activity. (Make sure you give specific examples from that sport and how it is played)
eg. Basketball uses 60% ATP-PC this energy system is used for short runs that happen regularly within a game to dodge when in attack or defence, to dart into space to receive the ball and when jumping and shooting, this happens most regularly during play. The anaerobic glycolytic system is used 20% of the time this would be for slightly longer runs up and down the court to get into defensive formations or running the ball around and continuing to move to get into a better position to shoot. The aerobic system is also used 20% for the consistent running back and forth, up and down the court without a break in play, when goals aren't scored and rebounds require the play to continue for 1min or more at a time.
