WHY ARE WE LEARNING ABOUT THIS?Â
👉 These skills are important if you take on a coaching role in the future but also for many leadership or group activities you may be involved with.
👉 The online course provides you with an official qualification that may allow you to get a coaching job or volunteer in a sporting club to contribute to community sport or as a starting point for advancement in the coaching field.
👉 As a player ( or in the future a parent) understanding how and why coaches work the way that they do can be helpful for your own interactions with coaches.
HOW ARE WE LEARNING ABOUT THIS?
THEORY
👉 If you are able to complete the online modules for the Community Coaching General Principles Course. and receive your certificate. This course is free of charge, students will need to register, create an account and enrol via www.ausport.gov.au.Â
👉You will complete an interview for a coaching job in which you address all of the main topics covered in the course.
PRACTICALÂ
👉 If you are able to utilise coaching styles in order to successfully transfer your knowledge of how to play a game or sport to others.
👉If you are able to  provide meaningful feedback in your role as a coach to improve the performance of another person.Â
👉In this unit, students are to work with students aged 10-12 (Yr 5-6) from local Primary School, St Margaret Mary’s. Teachers to organise at least two 1 hr sessions at either Merrylands Park or onsite at St Margaret Mary’s. In these sessions, students are to create lessons plans to develop a range of skills in a sport of choice. Sessions should develop skills progressively and provide the opportunity for evaluation and student feedback for improvement.Â
