Active participation in all activities is expected from all students.
If you are sick or injured for a practical lesson you must have a note written in the student handbook and signed by your parent/guardian (except for medical certificates), explaining your condition, whether this will be ongoing and for how long. A medical certificate will be required for injuries or illnesses that prevent participation for 2 or more lessons.
Following 3 consecutive notes from a parent/guardian, a medical certificate is required to explain any illness or injury, and any physical activities that may be possible during this time.
Students who are sick or injured will be given modified work to complete for that lesson, based on the nature of the injury or illness.
If the student cannot wear the full sports uniform, a note is expected from parents to explain the reason.
Students will be expected to bring alternate and appropriate PE gear.
Homework and assignments will be sent home on a regular basis. It is expected that all students will complete set work by the due date. If students do not complete set tasks they may not be able to achieve the set outcomes of the report. Parents will be notified if their child does not complete set tasks. It is the responsibility of the student to catch up on any missed work if they are absent from school. Extensions will only be granted in exceptional cases, and are not automatically granted in ALL circumstances.
PDHPE lessons will either be:
THEORY
Usually during single lessons (Yr 7-9).
Students are required to purchase and exercise book and bring this to all lessons.
This website will provide the information and structure required to engage effectively in the theory lessons.
Year 10 will participate in theoretical blocks. For example, for the 8 week Advocates for Health unit, students will participate in theory lessons for all PDHPE lessons during this time.
PRACTICAL
During one double lesson and a designated single lesson over the two week cycle (Yr 7-9).
Year 10 will participate in practical blocks. For example, for the 8 week Invasion Games unit, students will participate in practical lessons for all PDHPE lessons during this time.
Students must always wear the full sports uniform for practical lessons.
Students must wear their full sports uniform to school only on the days that they have practical PDHPE lessons.
If students do not have the correct full sports uniform, they must wear their school uniform to school and change into alternate clothing, supported by a parental note. Following the PDHPE practical lesson, the student must change back into their full school uniform.
If students do not have the correct uniform, an infringement will be issued. Any repeated failure to bring correct uniform without a valid reason (parent note or Doctor's Certificate) will incur an afternoon detention.

One piece swimming costume;

Students must bring their uniform for designated practical lessons regardless of the weather.
1. Where students fail to bring their PE uniform, or wear incorrect items of uniform without a note from a parent/guardian, a lunchtime detention will be issued.
2. After 2 lunchtime detentions in the same semester, an after-school detention will be given. Further breaches of the uniform rules will result in another after-school detention and referral to the relevant Guidance Coordinator and PDHPE Coordinator. Parents will be notified by a note sent home. Any student who is issued with a detention notice is required to attend.
