Attendance Expectations and Leave Procedures

ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS have been established to ensure your child has every opportunity to achieve their potential. It is important that students model the expectation of the workplace in relation to punctuality, whole and partial day absences. Please note if you are required to make an appointment for your child E.g., Doctor’s or specialist appointment, we ask that where possible, this is made outside of school hours. Driving Lessons and Driving Tests are not valid reasons for missing school.

LEAVE REQUESTS: If your child is required to take extended leave from school, there is a process to follow that must be adhered to well in advance of the requested leave period:

Please note, any exemptions from school attendance cannot be granted retrospectively.

Canvas LMS

Canvas Parent Accounts

At CathWest Innovation College, Canvas serves as an essential Learning Management System (LMS), streamlining communication and enhancing the educational experience for students, teachers, and parents alike. By using Canvas, the school provides a centralized platform where students can access learning materials, submit assignments, and receive feedback, all in one place. Additionally, parents are granted access to this system, allowing them to stay informed about their child’s progress, assignments, and other important updates. Parents can access Canvas by following the steps outlined in the provided PDF, ensuring they stay connected and actively involved in their child’s learning journey. This access fosters a collaborative learning environment and strengthens the support network surrounding each student.
