TASK 1: Where Australians Fought Mapping Activity
Below is a map of the world. You will be given a copy of this. Using the Internet, you are to find and plot the locations listed below onto your map.
NB: There is something missing on the map. Merit to the student who knows what it is
Australians fought all around the word during WW2. Fighting with the British as airmen in the Battle of Britain, Australians also fought significant battles with the Brits in the Middle East. The aggression of the Japanese Empire meant that there was a more direct threat in World War Two. Darwin was bombed, and Sydney was attacked by midget submarines. Australia turned back the Japanese in New Guinea, but many were captured in the Fall of Singapore

What was at stake (e.g. what would happen if the Axis Powers won or what would happen if the Allied Powers won? was there territory to be gained?)
Australia’s involvement (e.g. how many soldiers fought)
The involvement of other nations
The outcome (e.g which side won?)
The significance of the outcome (e.g. with this victory what did it mean for the winning side?)

A map showing the location of your battle
Images
You need to create a Google Slide presentation about this battle answering the key questions
