Summer holiday

ARCHIVE - PROJECT COMPLETE

Summer Holiday tips

Our last Virtual Orchestra and Choir effort for the term. This is another one for the whole Parmiter's Family to get involved in - students, staff, parents, grandparents, everyone!

Pictures

This week we'd love you bring some holiday looks to your pictures and videos, e.g. sunhats, shades, loud shirts, pool inflatables (no swimwear please). Photos taken outdoors would be very welcome.

Rhythm

This song use swing rhythms - this means that in each pair of quavers the first quaver is longer than the second. Follow the rhythms you hear on the track, or take a look at this video if you want more explanation.

Singers

To sound your holiday best, stand or sit up straight, take a good breath and open your mouth wide! It is fine to have several singers on one recording if you want to sing with other members of your family - just let us know who is on each recording.

Parts

These links take you to the parts in Google Drive - sign in with your school account to access.

You may find it easier to find the part you are looking for in list view rather than grid view (click here to learn how).

If you can't find a part that suits you (e.g. too hard, not the right instrument) please contact j.tyack@parmiters.herts.sch.uk

Deadline

Please submit your recordings of Summer Holiday here by the end of SUNDAY 12 JULY.

your recording - Top Tips

  • Instruments: there's no long intro on the guidetrack - just 8 clicks and you're in.

  • Bass and drums - you have a pick up at the end of the second bar of clicks.

  • Stand about a metre away from the device you are recording on.

  • Please tune up before you start recording - use this to help.

  • Make sure you are right there on the first downbeat with a good strong entry.

  • Don't worry too much about mistakes!
