Main Characters

Percy Jackson is the son on Poseidon and Sally Jackson. He is 12 years old and is in 7th. He has ADHD and dyslexia because that is one of the things that comes with being a half-blood in a mortal world. He lives at his home during the school year and his friends are Tyson, Annabeth, and Grover. He later goes to camp-half blood. He has brown hair and is average height. He is funny and is able to control water when he is fighting. Percy has to learn to trust himself and his instincts while fighting and deciding what is right, and decide who he should trust especially after he was betrayed by one of his friends, Luke. Percy has a sword called riptide that is a ballpoint pen when it is not uncapped gifted to him by his father.

Annabeth Chase is the daughter of Athena and has a mortal dad. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is Percy’s friend and helps him through his quest. She is very smart because of her mom Athena and also has dyslexia. She has lived in camp half-blood since she was seven the longest a camper has been there for but she goes back to her dads house for the summer at the end of book one. She has a invisibility hat that her mom gave her which she uses frequently during battle. We discover her main weakness later in the book but in the being we can see that she struggles with the betrayal of Luke and always wanting to succeed. 

Grover is a satyr, a half goat, half human so he has goat legs, and horns. He has curly hair and also has an ability to smell monsters which helps them (he, Percy, and Annabeth) a lot when they are on quests together. At the end of book one he sets of to find the great god Pan and leaves camp. But at the beginning of the second book we discover that he is being held hostage by a giant cyclops and needs to be rescued after being tricked by the cyclops. Grover is Percy’s friend and looks up to him. In the first book he was also Percy’s assigned mentor to look out for monsters and get him safely to camp half-blood when it is time to earn his searching license to go look for Pan.

Luke is the son of Hermes and is the “bad guy” of the story. He wants revenge on Olympus because he feels betrayed by his dad and thinks that the titans will rule better than the Olympians and he will get more power. He is very power-hungry and is blinded by his anger although he has a soft spot for Annabeth because they grew up together.
