Hey Parkview Families!
You may have heard what Jesus lived and taught described as “The Upside-Down Kingdom.” Though Jesus is King of the universe, He entered our world as a humble carpenter. Instead of demanding others serve Him, Jesus healed, listened to, and cared for people the world often overlooked. Rather than living in a palace and riding in on horses and chariots, Jesus walked long, dusty roads on His own tired feet. By our world’s standards, that’s completely upside down!
This month in Parkview Kids, we are helping children discover how the Bible defines true success—through humility and service.
We’ll explore how John the Baptist pointed people to Jesus instead of himself. We’ll meet the Roman commander who, despite his power and position, humbly trusted in Jesus’ authority. Kids will learn how Jesus calls us to love our enemies and how, through the story of Mary and Martha, spending time with Jesus matters more than simply doing things for Him. Finally, we will celebrate Jesus’ humble entry into Jerusalem and reflect on the powerful moment when He washed His disciples’ feet, commanding them to serve one another in the same way.
Our prayer is that through each lesson, your child will discover that being first isn’t as important as putting others first.

Ideas To Keep In Mind As You Talk With Your Kids:
In Week 4, your child will hear the story of Jesus raising Jairus’ daughter and healing a woman who had been sick for a long time. Conversations about Jesus’ healing miracles can be especially sensitive for kids who are experiencing illness, have differing abilities, or love someone who hasn’t been healed. As you talk with your child, remind them that while Jesus has the power to heal and promises to make everything right one day, we still live in a broken world. Because of that, healing doesn’t always happen right away or in the way we hope. Sometimes God brings healing to our hearts—through comfort, peace, or hope—even before our bodies are healed. Encourage your child to keep talking to God about their hurts, questions, and disappointments. Let them know that God welcomes our prayers, even when we don’t understand the answers, and that His love is steady and present in every situation.
