Hey Parkview Families!
Following Jesus is the most important decision a child can make but it’s only the beginning of a lifelong journey. This month in Kids Ministry, we are helping kids take their next steps by learning how to live and love like Jesus in practical, everyday ways. Through our curriculum, kids will explore four key Faith Skills that help them grow closer to God: hearing from God, praying to God, talking about God, and living for God. By looking at the life of Jesus, these big ideas become simple, tangible, and kid-friendly. From young Jesus in the Temple to The Lord’s Prayer, the parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders, and Jesus calling Matthew to follow Him, kids will see what these faith skills look like in action. Just like learning a new sport or instrument, growing in faith takes practice, encouragement, and a plan. As kids learn to practice these Faith Skills—even in small, daily moments—they’ll begin to grow more confident in their faith and become more like Jesus. We’re excited to partner with you as your family grows together this month!
Each week check out our at home disipleship tools so you can keep the conversations going with your kids that are start at church. These resources are designed for you as parents to take your children's faith to the next level and spend intentional time with them engaging in God's word. Children will model what takes place at home. This year commit to making the truth of God's word a staple in your home.

Ideas To Keep In Mind As You Talk With Your Kids:
For kids who think very concretely, “hearing from God” can help to start with something they can see and touch—the Bible. Remind your child that God always speaks to us through His Word, and that the Bible was written not just for people long ago, but for us today too. Encourage your child to ask God to speak and then spend a quiet moment listening. God might bring a Bible verse to mind, a word, a picture, or even just a feeling of peace or being deeply loved. If your child isn’t sure whether what they sensed was from God, reassure them that they can always talk it through with a trusted grown-up who follows Jesus and check that it matches what God teaches us in Scripture.
