October 2026
Welcome to October!
By now, the school year is in full swing, and many of our kids are facing big challenges—tests and homework, sports competitions, navigating friendships, and sometimes even dealing with difficult situations like bullying. While childhood is filled with joy and adventure, children are also learning that the world can be a difficult place.
Author G.K. Chesterton once wrote, “Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.” Every great story points us to the greatest story ever told—God’s Story. The Bible reminds us that while we face real battles in life, the ultimate victory has already been won through Jesus Christ.
This month, we want to help kids understand that no matter what challenges come their way, they never face them alone. God is fighting with them and for them. Jesus wins, and one day He will make all things right. Because of this truth, we can face every situation with strength, courage, and hope.
Our theme this month, The Safe Place, will help children discover an incredible truth: God is stronger than anyone or anything we will ever face. When life feels uncertain, He is our refuge, our protector, and our source of courage.
We look forward to partnering with you as we help kids grow in their faith and learn to trust the God who is always with them.

Tip Of The Month
Ideas To Keep In Mind As You Talk With Your Kids:
This month, take time to talk with your child about what it means that God is strong, powerful, and always with us. Some children connect easily with the picture of Jesus as a loving friend and caring shepherd. Others are inspired by the truth that Jesus is a mighty King and Warrior who fights for His people. Ask your child: "What is something hard or scary you're facing right now?" Then remind them that they never face challenges alone. God is fighting for them, and sometimes the bravest thing we can do is trust Him and obey Him, even when we don't understand what He's doing. You may also encounter questions like, "Why doesn't God fix this right away?" Help your child understand that God doesn't always rescue us from hard situations immediately. Often, He walks with us through them, giving us courage, wisdom, and strength along the way. Even when God's timing is different from ours, we can trust that He is at work and that one day He will make all things right.
