Parkland Strolling Strings is Parkland High School’s premier mobile string ensemble, featuring 75 violins, violas, cellos, and basses. Violins and violas stroll among the audience while performing entirely from memory, creating an engaging and interactive musical experience. From October to May, the group performs at school and community events, showcasing the skill, showmanship, and dedication of Parkland’s finest string musicians. 

Rehearsal/Performance Schedule:

PHS Strolling Strings Members rehearse during the summer and on Wednesdays after school throughout the school year. Strolling performances are scheduled from October to May, Monday to Friday during the school day. Students are responsible for making up any work missed during this period.

How to Audition:

 1.  Request strolling sheet music/audio tracks from mishlerb@parklandsd.org 

2. Record two strolling selections with backup track

3.  Record third selection from memory with backup track

4. Submit to mishlerb@parklandsd.org with subject "Strolling Strings Audition- [YOUR NAME]"
