Students in the Illustration course each created an artwork in which they demonstrate how proportion is affected by: portrayal of depth and/ or size/ scale ratio within the picture plane. (i.e. position of, size of, ratio of perceived objects/subject matter in proportion to each other and /or dependent upon whether in foreground, middle ground or background). They will then render the drawing with THREE ART TECHNIQUES: pen and ink techniques, professional colored pencil techniques, and watercolor pencil techniques to create a sense of 3-dimensionality and depth.
Goal Statement:
Students will be able to use a ruler to correctly measure out borders and layout guidelines with a ratio of 1:25. Students will be able to create a sense of depth in their drawing by varying the proportions of the subject matter in their illustration by decreasing or increasing the ratio of one subject drawn to another. Students will be able to use pen and ink, professional colored pencil techniques, and watercolor pencil techniques to further create the illusion of 3-dimensional objects.
