There are several things about sports that cost money. If any of these are an issue for your family, please let coach Reys know and we will see what we can do to ensure that your son is well taken care of here at Trojan Tennis.
1. Participation Fee: $55. This fee will be charged to the student-athletes Infinite Campus charge account. This fee is only charged once per school year, so any player that participated in a fall or winter sport and already paid will not be charged again. Additionally, any student who qualifies for a free or reduced priced lunch at school will not be charged this fee.
2. Uniform and Spirit Wear: $35 Each student must have a uniform top. New players to the team will need to purchase one for $30 from the team store. Returning players may use theirs from last year if it is in good shape. (This is the white shirt with the circular Trojan Tennis logo.) Beyond that, everything else on the form is optional. Students can market these items to friends and family, but are not required or incentivized to do so. This is not a fundraiser for tennis, rather it is a service to offer some Trojan gear to players and fans.
3. Meals at matches: $100. As we have done the past couple of seasons, we will be ordering Jason’s Deli sandwich boxes for each home and away match. This box includes a meat sandwich (choice of turkey or ham), chips, a pickle and a cookie. The logic is that many of our matches extend well into the evening, sometimes with a bus not returning home until after 7:30pm. We assume each player wants a sandwich, but you can opt out if you like.
a. Opt-out of the snack lunch. If you decide to bring your own snacks or simply don’t want this boxed lunch, you can opt out. Note that is a season long decision, you can’t opt-in or out from match to match.
b. Optional sponsor a player. If you want to round up to $125 (or any amount), this would help us cover the cost of providing a snack lunch to some of our players.
4. Team Pictures: Optional.
We will have team pictures on Thursday March 12th at the courts.
Our photographer is David Dice (same as last two years). Here is a LINK to the photo packages.
