You can travel to Germany two ways, the first and most common is to go by plane, there are many flight companies you can go with, the second way to get to Germany is to go by boat/ship.More people go by plane because it is cheaper, comfier and quicker.But if you want an experience of a lifetime and make it a holiday within a holiday, great, go on a ship, you will get to see many animals including blue whales and dolphins, as well as being able to stop at different countries on the way.

You can usually fly from your hometown area to somewhere like Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane, (and these are just the main few cities with large airports that will fly international). Once you have caught a plane to one of these destinations you will then be able to catch another plane to your final destination.Most planes that are travelling international will stop somewhere in the middle where you will get off and change planes so that the flight company can clean them, refuel them, and stock up on food and drinks. This doesn't usually take too long and is a great chance to go shopping with all the little stores with all sorts of goods throughout the airport.

The comfort on your flight depends on which company you choose to fly with, and that depends on how much you are willing to spend.There are many different plane companies you can choose from and every one of those companies have at least 3 different types of areas on the plane (some may have 4 and include premium), economy, business and first class, these 3 areas are all different, economy is the cheapest, and not fancy, business is nearly double the price but has more leg room and bigger seating as well as a wider variety of food, and first class is the best, in every way, some may say that the price is alot for a plane trip ($8,000), but it's worth it, especially when you are going to spend 18 hours actually in the air.
