Volunteers
Without our highly valued volunteers, we are nothing.
PBB is extremely fortunate to count amongst its team over 75 volunteers in local communities across Australia.
nearly every that works at PBB is also, a volunteer - we all give far more that is asked because, this work matters.
We work nationally and internationally, in strategic partnerships, through which we share resources to deliver higher quality support services to our client base.
The vast majority of our volunteers have direct or indirect lived experience of family breakup and often, suicide.
The PBB volunteer team is highly diverse in terms of its gender, location, expertise, experience, perspectives and thinking.
It takes a very special person to be on our team. If you think you have what it takes, drop us a line and find out about volunteering.
It is an unfortunate reality that working in our sector means that, occasionally, we lose much loved and respected colleagues.
This work is unlike other jobs and there is a reason that our core value is, One Big Family.
Starting at our 25th anniversary, on Fathers Day 2024, and each year thereafter, we will honour our fallen colleagues at dawns first light.
Also, we will annually honour our founders Tony Miller OAM and Alan Valja, and late colleagues Ben Fragar and Jeff Lindsay with named team achievement awards.
We will remember them, and what it is that they gave so freely that others could live. The legacy of the families that continue on beyond them is testimony to their gift to us all.
