So for my piece, I chose the Eiffel Tower, because it symbolizes Paris and it’s shiny and famous, which makes it significant. It’s very tall, shiny, and metal too!
The Eiffel Tower was created by Gustave Eiffel, that’s why it’s called the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was locally nicknamed "La dame de fer" which means “Iron Lady” in French. Gustave Eiffel started building the Eiffel Tower on 18 July 1887 and ended on March 15, 1889, and the 1889’s World’s Fair. In the Eiffel Tower, it has 3 floors for the visitors. The top level of the tower platform is 276 m (906 ft), which is crazy! The ground level to the first level was over 300 steps, which is a lot! All in all, the Eiffel Tower is 324 meters. At first, The Eiffel Tower was useless and people thought that it was bad because it was the work of the architects and engineers but a few years later, it became the “Symbol of Paris”. That’s why it’s very famous. The Eiffel Tower is known for its tall and daring design. The design was made by Maurice Koechlin and Émile Nouguier. The Eiffel Tower was suppose to stand for 20 years but because of its importance for Paris, the people decided to let it stand for 130 years.
I chose the Eiffel Tower because it symbolizes Paris and it’s shiny and famous, which makes it significant. It’s very tall, shiny, and metal too! Until now, it’s very significant because it represents Paris, the capital of France. It’s meant to be big so that the whole country can see it.
