CASS educates students in grades 9 through 12 who are academically capable but require therapeutic support in managing a mainstream setting. CASS is a setting for students who are able to participate in school-based counseling and need therapeutic support to manage academic and emotional demands. In-school counseling is provided by a Sage Thrive clinician, where students continue to work on understanding their emotions and behaviors, substituting appropriate behaviors while finding and strengthening alternative coping mechanisms.
The CASS classroom is available as a “safe space” for students to access therapeutic supports, participate in Academic Seminar classes, and check in when they need a break during the day. Staff works with parents/guardians to ensure students are successful academically and socially.
This program is designed for young adults with various abilities ages 18 to 21 who participate in our Small Business Concept and Structured Learning Experiences that foster vocational and career skills.
Community Mentorship is a learning program located within the community providing students with expanded options for career-driven vocational experiences. The goal is to provide a variety of hands on learning opportunities to help students acquire the skills to live in the world today. A critical component of Community Mentorship is the involvement of members of the community such as businesses, teachers and local establishments. The expectation is that students with disabilities will be provided with vocational experiences in integrated, natural environments in the community and that they will participate, independently or with accommodations and supports, in various vocational activities across a variety of settings.
