The Bergen Prep Program is a unique educational opportunity designed to provide high school seniors with a true college experience by earning academic credits during the early afternoon hours on a Bergen Community College campus. BCC Prep students attend their high school classes in the morning and then take afternoon classes at Bergen.
Students are responsible for all tuition, costs and fees incurred by attending the college or university.
As appropriate, a schedule will be developed at the high school to accommodate the college class schedule.
A one-semester, 3-credit college course will earn 2.5 high school credits and will count as such in total credits taken in grade 12.
It is the student’s responsibility to request the college send a college transcript to the PHS School Counseling Office at the end of each semester of attendance.
The college course and grade will then become part of the high school transcript.
