What You Must & May Not Bring
Any prohibited items must be left in the hall, outside of the testing room.
Required Items
You MUST bring:
Two sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers, for all responses on your multiple-choice answer sheet.
Two pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.
Laptop, if directed to for digital testing.
Photo ID: School-issued or government-issued ID
A watch that does not have internet access, does not beep or make noise and does not have an alarm (clocks are provided by the school).
Up to two approved calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Environmental Science, AP Macro/Microeconomics, AP Physics, AP Precalculus, or AP Statistics Exams. For a list of approved graphing calculators, visit apstudents.org/calculators.
A ruler or straightedge only if you are taking an AP Physics Exam. Protractors are not allowed.
Prohibited Items
You MAY NOT bring:
Electronic equipment including phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, wearable technology, cameras, recording or listening devices, or any other type of electronic or communication device; Watches that beep, make a noise, or have an alarm.
Books, reference guides, notes, dictionaries, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.
Compasses, protractors, mechanical pencils, pencils that are not No. 2, correction fluid, highlighters, or colored pencils.
Scratch paper: Students are prohibited from bringing scratch paper to the AP Exam, but scratch paper will be provided.
Unapproved calculators.
Earplugs, book bags, or purses.
Clothing or shoes with subject-related information.
Food or drink (Only for break time; see note below)
FOR BREAK-TIME ONLY:
If you opt to bring food or a drink for the break, it must be brought in a clear plastic bag and can only be consumed during the designated break time and outside in the hallway.
