MINDFULNESS


What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

Mindfulness practices can include: awareness, yoga, meditation, yoga, movement, breathwork and more.  Learning and practicing mindfulness for working with stress and anxiety can be beneficial. 

 

LGBTQ +

The PHS Unity Club for LGBTQ+ Students and Allies meets on Tuesday at Lunch 11:45-12:05 pm in Room #49.  Also, we have a Schoology Unity Club group, join here 

Also each year, PHS hosts the PUSD Unity Day for LGBTQ+ resources, suicide prevention, anti-bullying, and wellness. 

CALMING ROOM

Vision: To create a safe and quiet space for students to help them manage and self-regulate their feelings/emotions.  The Calming Room is in Room #113 and is open during school hours at PHS.  Any student experiencing a crisis would visist the PHS Counseling Office for support.
