The Academic Support Unit (ASU) is a unit in the Office of Student Services which aimed at enhancing student access, programmatic development, and outreach to external partners. It is committed to promoting excellence and greater opportunities for students, faculty, and staff, and also to develop supplementary tutorial instruction, learn development skills, to support quality educational offerings provided by faculty dedicated to excellent teaching scholarship and professional service, to enhance the image and visibility of the university in facilitating students’ academic success.
Not just that, the Academic Support Unit also creates a broad educational experience that is guided by a philosophy of education of the University and encourages a culture of collaboration in catering to the academic needs of students.
This may become apparent if they have been graded as unsatisfactory in an assessment, if one or more teachers have indicated they are having problems, or if the student themselves feel that they are not making the progress which they feel they ought to be making.
If you come across a student whom you believe is experiencing difficulties in their learning, please refer the student to the Academic Support Unit where they can gain the support they require.
