On 26 December 2025, the university library hosted its final Brain Gain Book Hour of the year, bringing a vibrant conclusion to the 2025 reading series. Throughout the month, participants prepared for the gathering by reading Fred Fordham’s graphic adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s "Brave New World. " This preparation culminated in a dynamic session where students and staff filled the library to exchange ideas and reflections before the year’s end.
The discussion followed the program's signature format, with participants sharing diverse perspectives on the book’s themes of social control and individuality. This month was particularly impactful as many readers connected the story’s lessons to personal growth and real-life challenges. The library served as a safe space for open dialogue, where thoughtful pauses and moments of inspiration shaped the atmosphere.
The Brain Gain Book Hour continues to demonstrate the power of reading to spark connection and critical thinking. As 2025 closes, the library looks forward to another year of fostering intellectual growth and community, staying true to the initiative's mission: that knowledge is most valuable when it is passed forward.
