The Asynchronous Canvas Training combines both Canvas Basic and Canvas Advanced. This self-paced course will introduce you to Canvas basics and also covers more advanced topics. This course is a resource of important Canvas information and how-tos, and also is a great resource for those already using Canvas.

The asynchronous Preparing to Teach Online and Hybrid course gives you hands-on experience in online, hybrid and live online teaching and learning. This is especially important if you have not taken an online course before.

The course begins with an overview of online teaching and learning, then addresses many important topics for successfully teaching online, such as the Quality Matters rubric, learning objectives and alignment with learning activities, instructing your online course, best practices in online teaching, assessment and accessibility. This course prepares faculty for the challenges of online teaching, while the asynchronous format allows you to work at your own pace.

This self-paced course contains information from Indiana University and the University of California. This course is for anyone developing and/or teaching an online course. It explores the backwards design process beginning with learning outcomes, followed by assessments, activities, and content. It also includes topics such as online presence, course structure, usability, visual design, accessibility, multimedia, and course management.
