AACC: Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction
Description: The American Association of Community Colleges’ Faculty Distinction recognition, named in honor of former AACC President and CEO Dale P. Parnell, has been established to recognize individuals making a difference in the classroom. Nominations should:
Demonstrate passion for the students and the classroom.
Show willingness to support students, inside and outside of the classroom.
Be inclined to participate in the campus community.
Go above and beyond what is required to ensure that students are successful in their academic endeavors.
One faculty member will receive the PVCC Distinguished Teaching and Learning Award and will be recommended for the American Association of Community Colleges’ Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty Award.

League for Innovation in the Community College

League Innovation Awards
Description: MCCCD faculty (residential, adjunct, one-year-only, one-semester-only, and clock-hour), classified staff, part-time staff, and administrators are invited to submit proposals for Innovation of the Year. The selection process is comprised of two stages. In the first stage, each College (and the District Office) will select a finalist. In the second stage, the finalists are then reviewed, and a Districtwide Innovation of the Year is selected. These innovations reflect significant achievements and the spirit of innovation and experimentation upon which the League was founded. The award honors faculty, staff, and administrators at member colleges who have created and implemented innovative programs, practices, partnerships, policies, and activities that improve the institution’s ability to serve students and the community.

League Excellence Awards
Description: The PVCC Staff Excellence Award recognizes outstanding staff members who exemplify the college’s core values through their everyday work. The recipient will be honored on campus and nominated to represent PVCC for the national League for Innovation in the Community College Excellence Award, which celebrates individuals who make a significant difference in the lives of students, colleagues, and their communities. This award exemplifies how candidates demonstrate PVCC's core values through their daily work.

NISOD
Description: The NISOD Excellence Awards provide member colleges with the opportunity to honor the remarkable contributions of faculty, staff, and administrators who shape the futures of community and technical college students. Recognizing these individuals not only validates their hard work but also strengthens a culture of excellence that benefits entire institutions and the students they serve. By highlighting outstanding educators and leaders, the Excellence Awards encourage professional growth, inspire colleagues, and elevate teaching and learning practices. These awards affirm the vital role that dedicated employees play in enhancing student success and advancing the mission of higher education and specifically the PVCC Strategic Priorities. Two PVCC employees will be selected: one full-time faculty member and one classified staff or administrator.

Spring 2027
Mary Lou Mosley Employee Excellence
Description: The Dr. Mary Lou Mosley Employee Excellence Award honors full-time Residential Faculty and full-time Classified Staff at Paradise Valley Community College who demonstrate excellence and/or distinguished accomplishment or service in one or more of the following areas through their activities and role at PVCC: teaching/training, assessment of students, student engagement and/or leadership in positive social change. Candidate(s) must be full-time Residential Faculty or full-time Classified Staff at PVCC who have completed at least one year of employment at PVCC, and who will be full-time during the next academic year. Candidates who have received this award within the past five years are not eligible to win. Previous winners can be viewed here.
