History teaches you how and why the world came to be as it is today. History deals with big issues like racism, power, war, politics and discrimination. Equally importantly, studying History develops transferable skills, for example the ability to analyse, argue and explain. The skills are highly valued by post-16 providers and by employers and are a benchmark to show your academic ability.
