General actions to prevent

COVID and other infections

Please be informed we have been implementing and training staff in several safety and hygiene actions, at this stage they are of high importance to detect any possible risk and to avoid infections among guests and staff.

A few routines will be different to our old normality; however, we are aware of a shared responsibility to keep our environment, guests and community safe. We kindly request your understanding and adherence.

Things you may want to know:

A temperature test is required for every guest entering our property. An infrared thermometer is used.
Guests will not be quarantined, however upon arrival we do recommend taking a shower.
It is not mandatory for guests to wear masks, however it is necessary to keep social distance with staff and other guests.
If you have any symptoms as cough, fever ,headaches or other COVID-19 related symptoms, please let us know immediately
Papaya Playa Project is just 5 minutes away from the Tulum private Costamed Clinic, weare 90 minutes away from Cancun Hospitals. Commercial airlines are resuming their flights: American Airlines is operating already, Aeromexico has regular flights.

Some of our general measures:

Staff temperature is tested daily.
All staff has been trained in proper hands washing and sanitization of surfaces.
All surfaces in restaurant, reception and public areas are disinfected continuously.
At this stage, all of our staff will wear masks. Disposable gloves are used and oftenly replaced when handling food or linens.
All of our staff will keep a safe distance of 1.5 m with you at all times, except in the restaurant-face shields are used
Food is cooked at higher recommended temperatures and strict hygiene measures are followed.
Room service and baskets delivery is available also at the beach and restaurant area.
All of our pools are kept at the maximum safe chlorine and PH levels.
Water systems have been tested in a laboratory and daily tests are conducted.

Our grounds and services:

At Papaya Playa we have plenty of space and we are making good use of it spreading restaurant tables and beach beds to ensure there is a proper distance between each guest.
We are limiting our maximum occupancy at the hotel at this time.
Sanitization stations are available for guests and staff. We encourage guests to use them.
We are limiting restaurant and beach club capacity, please make sure to reserve your beach bed and dinner time.
External guests are allowed at the restaurant, with reservation only, while not exceeding our maximum capacity.
Yoga and meditation classes are still part of our Program, but you will be requested to book your space and get a confirmation.
Check in is still personal, but we take care of keeping proper distance.
Menus are available in our app for your convenience.
Restaurant check and the final bill is sent to your mobile number. You may sign on line for checkin gout.
Towels and covers for beach beds are replaced after each guest’s use.
Our transportation company disinfects cars after each use, drivers wear a mask.
Minibar is stocked on request only. Requests are taken prior to your arrival and all items are disinfected before placing them in the fridge interior.

In your room:

We need your confirmation of preferred cleaning and turndown service times. The house keeper will not enter your room if it is occupied. Please confirm how frequently you need your linens replaced.
Only the house keeper will enter your room during your stay.
Every cleaning service includes a thorough surface and knobs sanitization.
Your room has been with no other guests at least 24 hours prior to you rarrival, a deep cleaning and sanitization has been conducted, including a full change of linens.
All linens and dish ware are washed at high temperature water (70o).
We continue to provide laundry service, but only items that can be machine washed with temperatures above 70ºC.
Air conditioning filter shave been just replaced and cleaned.
