Preparing for Academic Writing

The Writing Studio

The Writing Studio welcomes for all students, faculty, and staff, regardless of writing skill level. All writers improve with consistent practice and feedback. Writing consultations (30 minutes) at the Writing Studio are designed to teach various strategies to enhance your writing, research, editing, and proofreading skills. While writing coaches will not “fix your paper” for you, they will help you enhance your critical thinking, argumentation, and organization skills, empowering you to become a more confident and proficient writer for current and future writing assignments and tasks.

These workshops cater to writers at all skill levels and are suitable for students in any academic program. Participants will have the opportunity to improve scientific writing and scholarly voice in "Crafting Clarity," develop strategies to address writing anxiety in "Conquering the Blank Page," and leverage advanced AI tools for research writing in "Innovative Tools, Scholarly Goals." We invite you to join us in these engaging sessions to refine your writing abilities, improve your writing confidence, and start the year prepared to succeed.
