  • Hard of Hearing (def. A pupil has a hearing impairment, whether permanent orfluctuating, which adversely affects a child's educational performance)
  • Deaf (def. A pupil has a hearing impairment which is so severe that he/she is impaired in processing linguistic information through hearing, with or without amplification, which adversely affects educational performance)

Google Meet Closed Captioning

To enable captions in Google Hangouts Meet, click on the three dots menu in the lower right corner and choose “Turn on captions” next to the CC symbol. Captions are enabled or disabled by each user and cannot be activated for other participants. For more information, see Use captions in a video meeting

Enable as an Admin

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Room Management > Zoom Rooms.
  3. Click Edit for the Zoom Room you want to enable closed captioning for.
  4. Select Meeting Settings.
  5. Select Show More Settings.
  6. Under In Meeting (Advanced), toggle Closed Caption to on.
