Why become a Certified by SDPBC Green Belt? Because you are committed to working with others, continuous improvement, personal growth, and...
You'll have an improved skillset that makes you more marketable for positions with modern operational environments.
Adding this certificate to your resume shows your commitment and acumen in solving quality problems and analyzing data.
You'll grow as a leader as you coach and lead others in managing projects, as well as implementing the tools, techniques, and practices to achieve quality improvement.
Green Belts are able to form and facilitate Six Sigma teams and manage basic Six Sigma projects. Six Sigma Green Belts implement tools, techniques, and practices to achieve cost reductions and quality improvement within their departments, and are eligible to pursue Black Belt certification.
The Green Belt and Black Belt perform more advanced data analysis (more than Yellow Belts) to help identify root cause issues, quantify risk, and measure outcomes. To be effective, the belts need to be well versed in statistics, financial analysis, data planning, and measurement systems. The primary focus for these advanced belts are to deliver measurable value back to the business and to the customer. Data allows us to establish a common language: • Communicate in an objective manner • Collecting quantifiable facts • Establish baseline information • Facilitate cost-benefit analysis • Quantify the lasting impact of a solution through comparison • Allow the spread of a specific solution across many areas •
(Due to our licensing agreement with LinkedIn Learning, this pathway is not currently open to school-based staff.)
In order to earn Green Belt CERTIFICATION, you must have completed the SDPBC Yellow Belt class and there is a commitment to complete a project within 18 months of earning your course certificate via LinkedIn Learning. In addition, you must commit to use your new knowledge and mindset to benefit the School District and/or your department. You also have the option of NOT completing a project after you earn your certificate, in which case you will be Green Belt TRAINED; not certified. Six Sigma Green Belts are devoted to process improvement. Learn to increase efficiency, decrease defects and mistakes, find and remove obstacles, and improve overall quality output. Through this course you will identify and practice foundational Six Sigma techniques, explore data-driven techniques to analyze process efficiency, and prepare to become a Six Sigma Green Belt by completing a project.
