Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 

Our students did an outstanding job in the highly competitive Palm Beach/Martin County Region. Five students received Gold Keys, and their artwork is currently being judged nationally in New York City. All Gold Key winners will have their work displayed next week at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach and are eligible for a full tuition scholarship for a Summer Program in Art.

South Florida Fair 

If you are planning to head to the South Florida Fair make sure to check out three Dino-mite works by JHS Artists, Lauren Holloway (12), Hannah Bangel Briscoe (11), and Quiara Herrera (10) on display in the student gallery!  

Dress Codes: Norton Museum of Art 

Three JHS  students have been selected for inclusion in Dress Codes: Photographing Cultures and Identities through Fashion from December 9, 2022, through May 14, 2023 at the Norton Museum of Art.

Wall of Excellence: Florida State Fair

Congratulations to Jupiter Senior Dustin Perron! His ceramic/glass portfolio was selected for inclusion on the Wall of Excellence at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, Florida. This is a highly competitive event and an outstanding accomplishment 


Equal Pay Day: NationaL Winner 

Congratulations to 11th grader S. Johnson who won First Place in the Equal Pay Day Art Contest, judged by the U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh and the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Labor Julie Su. This amazing human also has work on display at Furry Friends in Jupiter. 

Drawing Transformed

Congratulations to Daniel Bonadeo, Lindsey Hataway, Zachary Thomas, Sofia Johnson, and Abbie Schaefer and Ms Lavetsky's Class for having work displayed in the Norton Museum of Art Exhibition Drawing Transformed. 

About the exhibition: 

The Norton Museum of Art 2022 student art exhibition Drawing Transformed will open on Friday February 25th during Art After Dark. The exhibit will be on view in the Chris and Bernard Marden Community Gallery from February 25 – May 15.

Florida State Fair: Rockin Robots

If you get a chance to go to the South Florida Fair this year, make sure to stop by the student art exhibit and check out the work of three JHS Warrior Artists! Freshmen Martyna Buffenmyer and Jaden Burke join junior Abigail Schaefer on display. The fair theme this year is Rockin' Robots and these three answered the call!

WITVA 25th Annual Celebration of High School Art

Congratulations to the following students for being selected to represent JHS in the Women in the Visual Arts 25th Celebration of High School Art! This year 27 Warrior Artists were recognized by the Palm Beach and Martin County Scholastic region for their outstanding work! Six students received Gold Keys and their artwork is currently being judged nationally in New York City. Included in that group is senior Tayleigh Lucas who received a Gold Key for her Art Portfolio, which puts her in the running for a $10,000 scholarship. All Gold & Silver Key winners will have their work displayed next week at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach and are eligible for a full tuition scholarship for an Early College Summer Program in Art.
