A school mental  health team is a multidisciplinary team of school-based stakeholders who meets regularly, uses data-based decision-making, and relies on action planning to support student well-being, skills for learning and life, behavioral health and/or mental health.  

Mental Health Teams:

• Support a comprehensive, whole-school approach to student behavioral health, mental health and well-being.  

• Work to align people, programs, and practices support across tiers 

( core, supplemental, intensive) and,

• Ensures that mental health support is available to all students based on their needs.  

Student access to mental health support is improved when schools have high functioning mental health teams.
