About the International Baccalaureate
The IB is an international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and founded in 1968. The IB offers four programmes to form a continuum of education that promotes personal and academic growth. The PYP is designed for students ages 3 to 12. Only schools authorized by the IB can offer any of its four programmes. IB programmes are found in almost 5,000 schools in over 150 countries around the world.
IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes. They focus on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both at school and beyond.
"The IB aspires to help schools develop well-rounded students with character who respond to challenges with optimism and an open mind, are confident in their own identities, make ethical decisions, join with others in celebrating our common humanity and are prepared to apply what they learn in real-world, complex and unpredictable situations." from The International Baccalaureate, ibo.org
