Retired Dogs

Ellie (Ellison) Baehr was the first lucky dog to benefit from Pal-Mac's therapy dog program.  She started at the middle school in 2005, and retired many times.  Each time she left, hearts were broken, and requests for visits turned into more days at school than at home!  Favorite memories include visiting teachers for treats, hanging out with the sick children in the nurse's office, and even presenting to the NYS Board of Education with her owners in NYC!  Ellie passed away in 2018.  She was so loved by the students and faculty, and will never be forgotten.

Morgan Blankenberg was a black and silver goldendoodle, and worked at Pal-Mac in both the Primary and High School for five years until his partner retired. Morgan worked under the direction of the school psychologist, school counselor, and a special education teacher.  He also worked in the mental health areas of the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, and in both the adult and child programs at the Wayne County Nursing Home and the “Happiness House” in Canandaigua until his passing.  Morgan and his partner gave presentations at many of the area colleges, and the Rotary and Lions Clubs.  The Rochester D&C and the online educational journal  “Education World” have both feature articles on Morgan.  Morgan passed away in 2017 and is greatly missed.

Maggie Wilczewksi is a 11 year old goldendoodle who recently retired from her duties as a therapy dog at Palmyra-Macedon Intermediate School.  While she is enjoying her retirement at home, she has made a few  "special appearances" at PMI.   Maggie is seen below (right) with her friend Charlie (left).

Marley Green began as a therapy dog in 2008 at our Primary School and retired in June 2018 after 10 years of service.  He spent his days at school loving the kids and faculty and working beside his owner, Mrs. Cindy Green, a first grade teacher.  Marley was one of the first full-time therapy dogs for our school district, and he was able to touch the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of primary-aged students and staff.  Marley passed away in 2019 and will be remembered fondly.

Katie, Winnie, and Charlie Davis are former therapy dogs who have moved to another district with their owner, Jill Davis. They are very loved and are a missed sight at Pal-Mac High School!

Freya Meyer was a therapy dog who joined the Pal-Mac family in March 2018. She traveled to all 4 buildings in the district with her owner, Dr. Joanna Meyer. Sadly, Freya died suddenly, but peacefully, in July 2022 with her beloved family at her side. Freya's time at Pal-Mac was too short, but her cuddles and her impact will be fondly remembered.

Paris Trapp was a High School therapy dog who retired in June 2023 to start new adventures with her owner, Nicole Trapp. We enjoyed our time with Paris and know she will continue to make others smile.
