Working Papers

Working papers serve as an official employment certificate and are required for anyone under the age of 18 who wishes to work. Employers use working papers to ensure that students are not working more hours than permitted for their age.

Students may obtain working papers at ages 14–15; however, a new application must be completed once a student turns 16.

Please click the appropriate button below to access the required paperwork. Both sides of the application must be completed in full, including verification of a current physical examination completed within the past year.

If you have already submitted a current physical examination to the High School, you may ask the School Nurse to complete the Physical Fitness Certification section instead of having your doctor's office complete it.

Once all paperwork is completed, please submit it to the Counseling Office Secretary. Your working papers will typically be issued within approximately 24 hours of receiving the completed application.

Important: Students applying for a 16–17 year-old work permit must bring their Social Security number when signing their work permit.
