THE LIFT PROJECT
There is nothing more important than the health and well-being of our teachers/staff and their families. We know that many of you are looking for attainable ways to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, and we are committed to helping you reach those goals. As a result, Finger Lakes Area School Health Plan is partnering with the internationally recognized well-being initiative ‘The Lift Project’ to provide tools, strategies, and experiences designed to help you take control of your well-being and live a happier life.
The Lift Project is a fun and engaging virtual program that brings together proven strategies from the fields of Neuroscience, Lifestyle Medicine, and Positive Psychology. Facilitated by award-winning educator and well-being expert, Dr. Darren Morton; The Lift Project explores 7 well-being-enhancing topics that are designed to lift your mood and life. This comprehensive well-being adventure is available to you, members of your family, and anyone in your personal or professional community at no cost.
The Lift Project initiative will run from October 14th – November 29th, allowing enough time to watch, read or listen to one Lift Project lesson (15-minutes each) per week. This is a unique opportunity that has the potential to impact your life positively in many ways!

WELCOME TO THE MINDFULNESS, MOVEMENT & MOTHER NATURE CHALLENGE!
FLASHP is excited to announce year two of the Three M’s Challenge (Mindfulness, Movement & Mother Nature) This year’s challenge will run from April 22nd, 2024 - May 19th, 2024. If you are interested in the Three M’s challenge, please register before Friday, April 14th.
The Three M's Challenge is a 4-week challenge designed to showcase the interconnectedness of physical and mental well-being by motivating participants to be physically active and spend time outdoors while incorporating a variety of mindfulness practices. We will be with you every step of the way, with weekly newsletters that include resources for learning and experiencing the benefits of the “Three M’s”. Also included will be your weekly activity requirements for completing the challenge with guidance and supplementary materials on how to accomplish those activities.

Newark's Laurel House provides quality, compassionate end-of-life care. The proceeds from their 5K support this much needed service. The Laurel House 5K Run/Walk Committee has been busy preparing for our upcoming 8th Annual Race. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER for the June 10, 2023 Race. FYI - We now have a reduced rate for race sign up for youth under age 18.

Smola Consulting is excited to host Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) CEO, Sara Martin as our next presenter in our Wellness Speaker Series. Sara’s presentation on Systems for Psychological Safety, Trust & Respect in the Workplace (December 8th at 7 PM) will discuss the concept of psychological safety and the role it plays in strengthening group dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and greater innovation in organizations. Psychological safety is the belief that one can share opinions, thoughts, and ideas freely without the risk of penalty or shame.
Sara earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama and her Master’s Degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. Sara sits on the Johns Hopkins Mental Health in the Workplace Advisory Council and the CDC Workplace Health Resources Center Steering Committee. Sara is a prominent well-being speaker, a long-time well-being practitioner, and preeminent well-being thought leader in America. As the CEO of WELCOA, Sara serves a variety of populations across many different industries, and in doing so, understands the depth and complexity of the corporate well-being industry and the needs of the organizations and employees WELCOA supports.

Calm is a self-guided digital app that helps people manage and reduce day-to-day stress through mindfulness, meditation, and improved sleep. The Premium subscription program includes guided meditations, sleep stories, breathing programs, stretching exercises, and relaxing music. This program is not intended to replace face-to-face therapy or physician care if you’re in crisis or managing chronic and/or high-risk conditions, but it can be a helpful way to supplement your care.
