Welcome to Palisades Charter High School (PCHS)!!
**We recommend you use a computer, not a cell phone to make your requests. Please complete this ASAP.**
Freshmen families, please sit with your student to plan the Freshmen schedule, using the resources below, before submitting course requests.
9TH Graders at PCHS take the following courses:
English 9 - All students are enrolled in Honors English 9AB.
Math - Students will be placed in courses based upon current Math class, final grades earned, and State Test Scores.
Science - Freshmen take Biology, Conceptual Physics or Chemistry. Note: Some courses have math prerequisite requirements.
Physical Education - Every Freshmen student must take PE, regardless of placement on athletic teams.
World Language/Elective/Academic Support Class - The school has discontinued the POD program. Instead, students will take two courses from this category
Students must have a B or better in both semesters of 8th grade English in order to take Spanish, French or Italian.
There is no minimum grade requirement for Spanish for Spanish Speakers.
Students who are not eligible or do not wish to take a World Language can select an elective from the 2024-25 PCHS Course Catalog .
Students with an IEP or 504 will be programmed into courses that align with their plan. Please make sure to upload their IEP or 504 into OLR.
Students are no longer required to take Health, Technical Arts or Computers to graduate, but those courses will be available for elective credit.
We have added many Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways for students to explore career paths. See CTE Pathways and consider selecting the first course in the pathway as an elective.
