Hey Freshmen! It is time to request your courses for your SOPHOMORE YEAR!! Here are some resources to help you plan your schedule.
2025-26 Course Planning Webinar - with counselor voiceover
OR
Slideshow - without voiceover
STEP 1 - PLAN YOUR COURSES
Review your PCHS transcript
Student’s transcripts are available in the Infinite Campus student portal, under “Documents”.
Use the Course Planning Resources (below) - (enter courses taken and plan your future courses)
Note anything that is still remaining. Let your counselor know if you are missing any summer work or outside courses on your transcript.
Explore course options and write out your plan
Print your Planning Worksheet HERE (This worksheet was passed out in Pali Period classes on 12/4/24.)
Use the 2025-26 PCHS Course Catalog and Course Offerings 2025-26 to research courses.
We have added many Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways for students to explore career paths. See CTE Pathways and consider selecting the first course in the pathway as an elective.
Discuss course selections with current teachers. Teacher recommendations are the strongest predictor of success.
Review your course requirements - RISING SOPHOMORES
All students must take a minimum of 6 classes.
Required courses - 1) World History, 2) English, 3) Math, and 4) Science. Most students also take 5) World Language/Elective Course and 6) PE.
STEP 2 - SUBMIT YOUR COURSE REQUESTS
Students will be selecting Fall 2025 courses now on Infinite Campus - Student Portal
Course Registration Instructions - Only input FALL class (total will be 18 units for 6 classes)
Students will have an opportunity to confirm their schedule during the Spring and make any necessary changes.
STEP 3 - SUBMIT THE GOOGLE FORM
Complete 2025-26 Course Requests Form to rank your elective choices. Use the same choices as you did in your course planner. In the event that one of your requests can not be scheduled, counselors will use these choices to complete your schedule.
You can also list any courses that are not available or any issues you have submitting your courses on this form.
PROGRAMMING TIPS:
Student's requests do not guarantee placement in the courses. Students are selecting their requested courses. Entrance to courses may be changed due to space, eligibility, and seniority, as well as graduation requirements. The Counseling Office will make the final schedule, using teacher recommendations, availability and course balancing.
If you have questions about a course title, you can check it here.
The counselors will program courses requiring teacher approval (AP History, VAPA, Yearbook, Leadership, etc.), including athletic teams, after receiving lists from those teachers. Students will not be able to select those courses. Select an alternate if you are unsure of your status.
Students with specialized requirements, such as Special Education or other intervention courses, MAY see those courses already programmed and locked. They will be able to select any additional electives.
Students may want to select courses from each of the academic areas (English, Social Studies, Math, Science, World Language) each year to be most competitive for a four year college.
Students who are deficient by 30 credits or more MAY be automatically enrolled in courses through Pali Academy, and may have different requirements.
Students enrolled in Virtual Academy will work with their counselors directly to create their schedule. They do not need to select courses through Infinite Campus.
On-line, college, independent study and other outside courses which are in-progress are not included in Infinite Campus ALERTS
