Mr. Schmidt started working in construction at the age of 19 for Landmark, Inc. of Bristol, VT.  At 39 with 3 children, he enrolled in the teacher preparation program at Vermont College and started a second career as an educator.  His work and writing has appeared in Fine Homebuilding, Fine Woodworking, and the Journal of Light Construction.   Starting in 2020, he works half time at PAHCC as the Coop Coordinator. He enjoys building projects and grandchildren and volunteers with Brandon Area Rescue Squad.
