Power is like a race.
Everyone starts off slow
In hopes to eventually reach first place.
As you learn from your mistakes,
You begin to pick up the pace,
Growing stronger and faster with each stride,
Gaining more motivation as you get closer to the prize,
Overcoming any obstacles that may deter you from your goal,
Ignoring any negativity or competitors trying to ruin your good soul,
And although you take the lead
And get closer and closer to that finish line,
You’re reminded to stay humble and not have too much pride.
With hardwork and dedication, you may have won the race,
But, if you get too comfortable, it can all be taken away.
Appreciate the eye boogers found in the corners of your eyes when you wake.
Appreciate that awkwardness between you and that guy on the first date.
Appreciate that moment when you plop onto your bed after a long day.
Appreciate the joy in hearing the laughter of your siblings as they play.
Appreciate the nagging of your parents about doing your chores.
Appreciate that breath of fresh air once you leave out your front door.
If it all got taken away today, you’d be wishing to relive it once more.
Go out, enjoy life, live it up, and explore.
It’s the little things about life that you must adore.
