I found a rock lying on the grassy green,
A glowing heart left in a loveless scene.
This heart be mine that longs for love,
But cannot take off like a dove.
For now my wish must await,
Till fate opens up the gate.
There lies a noble sled of cherry red.
It sits on a hill of snow for its bead
With a flash of excitement in its eye
When I come forward and walk up close by.
I look down the maountainous hill of white,
And decide that I shan’t do that tonight.
But just then my mind heard the sled call out,
“Hop on with me now and remove all doubt!”
My curious feet move quicker than reason,
Ready to test the sport of the season.
The slick sled glides through the marshmallow fluff,
We race down the hill and stop with a puff.
Now it’s all over, no more do I fear,
You only live once, live by day not year.
Tomorrow is the future and the past.
When we gain the future,
We become the past.
Our future is a full moon.
It comes and shines it’s shimmery glow,
But when it’s near done
We look to the future for another show.
