In a world that is increasingly ideologically divided, where news-access is curated by algorithms, and where science is frequently sidelined and even denigrated, science communication is more important than ever. The projects linked below reflect the outcomes of an upper-division undergraduate course on Science Communication (SCI-COMM), taught through the lens of Psychological Science. SCI-COMM is an interdisciplinary endeavor that organizations like UNESCO state should be a duty of scientists, however, it is a skill rarely taught, much less taught to undergraduates. Psychology is well positioned to be a leader in SCI-COMM though. Not only does Psychology have much to offer SCI-COMM, but Psychology itself needs more SCI-COMM too. As students learned about the psychological science of knowledge acquisition, communication, narrative and belief change alongside critical readings about the field of science-communication, they began flexing their nascent skills. Each project site below reflects their work this semester. Please visit to learn more about the useful information students aim to communicate to their respective audiences. While it is important to note that these student atuhors are still honing their communication-craft, they have made great strides and have useful knowledge to share with you!
