TECHNOLOGY .  ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE . TOOLS

Spring semester 2023 started with big Technology news: ChatGPT was making it's first waves in the world. The buzz? It will R U I N us. Such buzz happens with the advent of all new technology. This is not new[s]. We humans dream it [technology] up and make it a reality and have done so for millennia. We seem to love to fear this process, but we can’t stop it. Creating tools to support and enhance our existance has enabled the very survival of our species. In the modern era I think we can all agree that AI–Tech is amazing. But it's important to recognize its limits. The purpose of this site is to inform and shape our thinking about the usefulness of technology like ChatGPT and Social Robotics. AI was initiated to do well what humans do poorly, to enhance our experiences. To this end, at present, AI is a tool that can be used well or poorly and we are here to help folks think about how to use it well. And to assure readers that AI -- which is far from human-like -- is not in a position to initiate a grand singularity any time soon. That said, it is on us to make good on the promise AI affords in our lives and our work. Knowledge, in this regard, is power.

AI can be helpful. Let us show you how.
