Sets unrealistic expectations for younger generations
Everything changes our brain, not just technology
Human learning processes have not changed
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
Believing this myth can hinder creativity
Supports learned helplessness
Can hold yourself back by believing half of your brain is better than the other
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
Believing this misinformation limits the full utilization of our brain
Limits encoding variability (the more ways you encode information, the higher the chance you will be able to recall it when you need to).
Understanding the truth can improve memory recall through deeper processing (encoding and rehearsing information in a deliberate way by thinking about semantics).

Hi everybody! I am a Senior Psychology major from Petaluma, California. I also have a minor in Kinesiology and Criminal Justice. I plan on pursuing a career in sport and performance psychology. There is plenty of mis and disinformation in the field I am entering, so I wish to use what I learned from this project to better guide the people I work with in the future. Through this project, I gained skills to help me know what is true and what isn't and make the truth stick to spread the right information. Being able to decipher misinformation from the truth is crucial to being able to do this.
