Lions, Tigers, Wolves (K - 2nd)

Overview:

Rank advancement is awarded when each Scout has done the following, (Specific requirements for these adventures can be found in this (the) addendum.)

LIONS (K):

1. Complete the five required adventures: 

• Lion’s Honor 

• Animal Kingdom 

• Fun on the Run! 

• King of the Jungle

• Mountain Lion 

2. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide. 

Outside of the requirements, Lion Scouts can also complete any number of seven elective adventures of their den’s or family’s choosing.

TIGERS (1st Grade):

1. Complete the six required adventures: 

• Games Tigers Play

• My Tiger Jungle

• Team Tiger

• Tiger Bites

• Tiger Circles: Duty to God

• Tigers in the Wild 

2. In addition to the six required adventures, complete at least one elective adventure of your den’s or family’s choosing. 

3. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide. 

4. Earn the Cyber Chip award for your age. (The Cyber Chip portion of this requirement may be waived by your parent or guardian if you do not have access to the internet.) OR Earn the Protect Yourself Rules Preview Adventure for Tiger.

WOLVES (2nd Grade):

1. Complete the six required adventures: 

• Call of the Wild

• Council Fire (Duty to Country)

• Duty to God Footsteps

• Howling at the Moon

• Paws on the Path

• Running With the Pack

2. In addition to the six required adventures, complete at least one elective adventure of your den’s or family’s choosing. 

3. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide. 

4. Earn the Cyber Chip award for your age. (The Cyber Chip portion of this requirement may be waived by your parent or guardian if you do not have access to the internet.) OR Earn the Protect Yourself Rules Preview Adventure for Wolf. 

Meeting Logistics:

• WHERE:  Ocean Shore School MPR during school; alternate locations during summer.

• WHEN: TBD

• WHAT: Scouts are expected to wear Class A uniforms to den and pack meetings.  Place your order here; or ask around.

• HOW: Meetings begin with an opening ceremony; reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, the Scout Oath and Law.  Then, we breakout and dive into den “scout adventures and fun activities”.

Family Expectations: 

• Be Prompt & Present!  

• Provide your scout w/ their Class A Uniform!

• Volunteer as a “helping hand” at meetings 4x’s annually!

• Recruit 1-2 pack members annually; share our Intake form!

• Share ideas & feedback!

Character & Behavior Recognition:  4 recognition awards (“Cub Kudos”) encourage good behavior & role modeling w/ an emphasis on Courtesy, Cooperation, Attention, and Respect.

• Courteous Camper

• Cooperative Cub

• Attentive Arrow

• Respectful Ranger

Also, a cub member of our den is appointed as our “Denner” tasked as the den leader's helper, responsible for leading the den; and awarding Cub Kudos.  Duty rotated every other meeting.
